Paper Boxes Material
Cardboard gift boxes refer to paper packaging made of paperboard and paper, roughly include two types, i.e. folding boxes and rigid setup boxes. And four types of board material are commonly used for paper boxes:
1. Fiberboard
Fiberboard is a kind of artificial panel made of wood or other plant fibers. It’s smooth and stiff, and good for painting & pasting on its surface.
2. Chipboard
Chipboard is a pressed paperboard, made by gluing & pressing recycled paper. It’s stiff and good for forming round paper tubes.
3. Corrugated paperboard
Corrugated board (containerboard) is comprised of one or more layer of wavy corrugated medium (fluting) and one or more layer of flat corrugated linerboard. It’s strong and shock-absorbing, mostly used in the manufacture of shipping containers.
4. SBS Board (Solid bleached board)
SBS board is a virgin-fiber grade paperboard, made purely from bleached chemical pulp and usually has coated sides. It has good printing properties and can easily be cut, creased, hot foil stamped and embossed. Also, being hygienic and pure with no smell and taste, it’s ideal for packaging aroma and flavour sensitive products such as tea, food and perfume etc.
The selection of paper & paperboard largely depends on packaging content & purposes, among other factors.
